In 1995 Skip Locke started Surf Rents Trucks with a goal to provide the island of Maui with an independently owned Truck rental option. He opened his doors with about 20 trucks and a family who supported him and has grown to a community minded business with a fleet of over 60 vehicles and an amazing staff.
In 2015 Justin Locke, Skip’s son moved back home to help his father slowly retire, and today you will find the both of them at the lot helping customers along with the rest of the Surf Rents Staff.
Surf Rents Trucks also is a large supporter of local charities that benefit the residents of Maui, including the Maui Arts and Cultural Center, The Maui Food Bank, Maui Academy of Performing Arts, Growsome Good, and a number of youth sports groups thru truck rental donations, monetary donations, and staff involvement.
Also to help lessen the impact on the environment around them, Surf Rents also continues to work on improvement their carbon foot print. In 2014 they installed solar panels on their building, which now supplies 100% of their electricity use.
